Shirley Chisholm She's Unbossed and Unbought
The year is 1972 and the place is Washington, D.C. and you are there. When Mrs. Chisholm announces her serious bid for the Presidency of the United States. Students get a chance to be up close and personal with a woman, who stood up, spoke out and sought to change the status quo.

Shirley Chisholm began her career as a nursery school teacher and director of daycare centers. She later became an authority on early childhood education and child welfare. She became active in local political organizations and challenged the balance of power in Brooklyn's Democratic Party quickly becoming known as maverick who was unafraid to confront inequity.

She was a woman who did not believe in bowing to politicians instead her mission was to serve the people who put her in office.

This program is 45 minutes including question and answer session immediately following the program.
